Peak season:
Practically all year is the peak season for Las Vegas. The summer months might be the best time to find the cheapest flights to Las Vegas, but the weather can reach extreme temperatures due to the desert location. All hotels and casino’s do have air conditioning though so you’ll feel comfortable until you go outside. Autumn and winter are generally good times of the year to get your flights to Las Vegas as the weather conditions are cooler. When finding your flights to Las Vegas, try to see if there are any big business conferences going on as this can affect the price of the flights. New Year’s is hugely celebrated, as is July 4th and the Labour Day Weekend (which is the first Monday of September), so don’t expect to find cheap flights to Las Vegas then. Spring Break also increases the costs of the flight tickets so make sure to plan carefully.

When booking your flights to Las Vegas, the main airlines you’ll find are British Airways, Iberia, Finnair and Delta. British Airways are normally a little cheaper than the other airlines, but this varies a great deal with your dates. All your flights will have in-flight entertainment, meals and complimentary drinks and snacks.
When you arrive at McCarran International Airport, you’ll think the strip is so close you could walk there. This isn’t recommended and you’ll soon learn everything in Vegas seems quite close. The easiest and quickest option is to get a taxi straight from the airport, it shouldn’t take longer than 30 minutes, maybe less depending on where your hotel is and what the traffic is like. Make a point of telling your driver to exit the airport via Swenson, as otherwise you’ll end up taking the highway which actually takes longer.
You can also arrange for a limo to collect you if you want to ride in style, or at the other end of the spectrum you can take the shuttle bus. This might be the cheapest option but it makes many stops, so if you’d rather just get to your hotel and relax, take a taxi. You can also take a bus straight to the strip or rent a car, however unless you are planning to explore the outer areas of Las Vegas, a car could be more of a hindrance to your trip.
