Located the heartland of America, Bloomington is also an ideal place to experience American Midwest culture.  The annual County Fair is one of the largest and oldest agricultural fairs in the country.  Farmers bring in their best livestock and produce for show but the fair also has a carnival like atmosphere with live acts at the grandstand, amusement park rides and contests.  The fair’s events are diverse with special shows for everything from antiques to tractor-pulls.

Getting from the Airport to Bloomington

Bloomington is serviced by the Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI).  There are five car rental agencies that are located in the baggage claim area at the airport terminal.  The city is only a few minutes from the airport.  Exit the airport on Highway 51 North and turn right on Veteran’s Parkway which will take you into the city. 

The Greater Peoria Airport (PIA) is a 45 minute drive from Bloomington via highways I-74 and I-474 West.
