Getting around Luxor

Buses and trains go from the city to places of interest while exploring the town can be done by bicycle or if you prefer, by calèche. These are horse-drawn carriages and are an exciting way to see Luxor by night. Walking around the busy tourist district and shopping is more enjoyable during the cooler times of the day.

Getting from the Airport to the City

The main airport for Luxor is the Luxor International Airport (LXR). Taxi services are available to take visitors to their accommodation. Remember to agree a price before getting into the vehicle as bartering is one of the ways to get money taken off the fare.
