Easy to find the outlet in discovery center. Welcoming , helpful desk staff. Car rental was efficient. Getting to the vehicle in the hotel parkade was a bit of a maze. No problem driving out. Dropping vehicle off in morning was going back into maze in parkade.. but was completed. Helpful staff at vehicle return

The agent was friendly when we picked up the car. However, the fees that I paid online were far less than the total I was quoted. For the Moore, the car I actually selected was not available, and I was not given an upgrade fee of charge, even though I had already paid for my reservation online with a credit card. The upsell tactics by the agent were fairly aggressive, and the full insurance was pretty outrageously priced. The car itself had extensive water spots on the exterior and was not very clean.

They are trying to charge us for damage that was on the vehicle when we received it. They have you fill out a digital damage form with pictures so that they can delete and pretend they have no record of you submitting pre-existing damage. The associate we worked with even saw and acknowledged the damage before we left the building on pickup day. Do not rent with them! Or at least have them sign off physically on damage.

Firstly on your website you could state that a 2nd driver is not only $250 but that it is $250 every 28 days and that when picking up the car the person should be told this. We were never told that the $250 was for only 28 days. Our contract was for $3476.90 from Dec 29/2023 to Feb 29/2024 which is 62 days. We have been charged $1852.03 twice (which looking back obviously included the additional driver fees)and there is an amount of $711.04 on my Visa which totals $4,415/10 which is basically $1,000. more than my original rental agreement. When we returned the car we were given a total of $438.03 still due so other than the fact that it is $400 + over the original agreement so why is $711.04 pending on my Visa? You are a company that is fraudulent towards the consumers and I would neither rent from you again nor would I recommend you. We travel a lot including 2 months every year in Hawaii.

Overall it was fine. However, picking up the car was slow and painful. Most everyone had to wait 45-60mins + to receive their car after you paid and went thru customer service rep. The van we got was new but had some obvious minor damage all around. 10 minutes into the drive from Budget and the front right TPS (tire pressure sensor) was alarming that there was an issue. Luckily, the tire was fine and just a bad sensor but was a bit annoying getting that warning everytime you started the van. Overall, it was worth it. Just need some patience at the start.

They gave me an old car making funny noise over 40 mph. There was a super long line with exactly 2 agents behind the counter who happen to be less than friendly, trying to aggressively push for things I did not want nor need. Return procedure had no explanations and when I sought to ask, they were very rude and could not be bothered. Probably the worst rental car experience overall I ever had.

In Kona, all the rental car companies need to do a better job at cleaning the car windows. The car we had, the windows were so dirty that you could hardly see the back window. At some point, that becomes a safety issue especially on an island where the street lights are dimmed.

They didn’t send a shuttle driver for over an hour, even though we called 5 times! On the fifth call, we were told that they didn’t even have the vehicle we reserved because we didn’t pre pay it. So, we went to Budget instead. The Ace rental office in Maui is absolutely terrible and I would suggest that you no longer represent them, as 4 other couples were having problems with being picked up at the same as us. Truly awful experience and wasted an hour and a half of our Hawaiian vacation.

Not aware of office hours before booking! They closed at 430, we landed at 530. couldn't get car until next day, I told office ahead of time that we wouldn't be there until next morning and when we arrived they said they canceled our car because no show. Very displeased, poor customer service. Had to zoom call and dealt with someone in CA. Workers in actual office were very nice and helpful, but not the "manager" in CA. Never again will I use them.

Excellent customer service-Really helpful and friendly. I arrived early but check in staff worked with me to get me a vehicle right then. I appreciated that very much! Th woman at the counter was great! Drop off was so easy and the employee I dealt with there was a 10/10! Shuttle to airport was ready and waiting and the shuttle driver was also a 10/10! This is the second time I’ve used Ace and I am now sure I will be a regular customer when I travel to Maui.

Beware. Hertz allows you to rent a car at 12pm but they are closed some days at that time. We got there just before noon and the workers literally walked right past us and refused to assist or even acknowledge our existence. Several other people were there as well. Only one worker stopped to tell us that they’re off at noon and can’t assist.

The vehicles are not very clean. The first truck I was given had a dead battery. The second one needed an oil change. The third one I had to clean when I got home to get rid of the smell of cigarettes and to get a clear windscreen. The counter staff were helpful but whoever checks the vehicles after “cleaning” needs some serious training.

I picked up my car at the airport in Hilo, where I live, for a weekend around the island with family. I think the car could have been a little cleaner, but it wasn't a deal breaker and the process was quick and easy. The associate at the desk was friendly and funny, Mr. Panama I will call him. If every time I rent from Hertz I get to see his face, I will gladly return.

I booked a convertible with thrifty and when I went to pick it up they informed me that they could not give me the car as they only accepted credit cards and they had a policy that required me to book the car until the time of my departure flight. I was not informed of these two things upon booking and was told I could use a debit card and there was no mention of the policy whereby the car had to be rented out until the date of departure from the island. The staff were unhelpful and provided no alternative solution.

Took one hour in the line to reach rental counter, then took another hour waiting in garage, to retrieve vehicle. Ridiculous. Never again! 2 hours! Made me miss a very important meeting!

I reserved a Jeep Wrangler but apparently all of the Wranglers dollar had were in for service. I was offered very few options and then was talked into a Ford f-150. Very quickly I realize that I was in a very unsafe vehicle. Tires were low vehicle did not seem to have been maintained. Later that day the vehicle would not even go into drive. I contacted support they asked me to bring it in the next day. The vehicle locked up again so he tow truck had to come pick the vehicle up. After that I was charged 400 plus dollars for one day rental.

Car was fine, all staff were friendly and helpful, drop off was easy, price was great. The only negative - and this is huge - was waiting in line for more than two hours at pick up at HNL (it was a Saturday). The line at Dollar was maybe ten times longer than at any other rental office. Once we finished the paperwork, actually getting the car was a breeze. When we dropped off the car (Tuesday) the line appeared maybe 2/3 as long. The lines are a reflection of the prices, but be warned...
