I was somewhat of a difficult time by the counterperson in Mobile for looking to pickup my car an hour prior to my stated reservation time, which I've never experienced in all my decades renting cars for business and personal travel. Outside of this, the pickup and return process were good and positive.

I reserved a vehicle with the intention to tow a camper the next day. I then called the company to make absolutely certain the vehicle had a tow hitch as other companies I have rented from always did. They informed they did not permit towing with their vehicles. I then cancelled the reservation (all within 30 minutes). They charged me a $50 fee for cancelling within 24 hours of the rental, but they, of course, ignored the fact I did so within 30 minutes of making the rental reservation online to begin with. The rental location was closed as I did this late at night, so they had taken no action whatsoever to prepare for my rental. Long story short, I will NEVER do business with this company. Too many others to choose from. Screw me once, shame on you. Screw me twice, shame on me. I don't give second chances to do me dirty.

I called ahead of time to confirm my reservation and was told my SUV would be ready at my scheduled reservation time. When I arrived the car hadn’t been cleaned at all. I received a different car with a half empty gas tank. I was charged for an SUV rental even though I was not given an suv. Staff at the Birmingham Avis location was disorganized and less than friendly. My final bill was $120 more than the price I agreed to at reservation time. The Dulles Avis location was very professional and took care of the issue for me. It still made the drop off process long and inconvenient. I will never rent from the Birmingham Avis again. Don’t let the low prices fool you. There are much better options!

have the car i make a reservation for be available when i reserve it for don't be out of cars on the lot when people have reserved a car, there was a whole line of people behind me still when I was forced to take the last available last car. A tesla that was smaller than what I ordered. don't try and upcharge me on the only car left. don't try and sneak in a late fee and say i returned the car a full day after I had dropped the car off and flown home don't try and add on a charging fee, TO THE TESLA I DIDNT ORDER IN THE FIRST PLACE, and say I left it under 50% when I did not. I shouldn't have to call customer service after the fact to get those made-up fees removed.

The customer service lady was very nice, professional with a beautiful personality that made me appreciate doing business with Hertz. I was at the wrong pick up location and she took care of getting me a car where I was. She was great. I wish I got her name.

Like??? Nothing!!! They didn't have the van I ordered. Were absolutely no help in trying to resolve the issue. Gave me an 800 number to talk to a robo-machine! Ordered this van a month ahead of time and they had absolutely nothing to say but they "didn't have the vehicle". I will never ore another rental vehicle through Hertz.
