When is the best time to fly to Casper?
Casper lies on the Platte River in Wyoming, USA and it is a wonderful choice for holidays, particularly during the summer peak season which runs from May till September. Flights are more expensive at this time with annual events like the Beartrap Music Festival bringing extra visitors to the town each August. Temperatures of 31 C are common in July and August so take cool, light clothing.
Shoulder season periods are between March and May and October to November and spring days in March and April are ideal for enjoying spring growth, although snow is still possible till April. Bargain shoulder season flights to Casper in October and November are perfect for catching the autumn foliage and enjoying clear, crisp days.

Casper is the second largest city in Wyoming and was built up around Fort Casper. The Fort Casper Museum and Historic Site lets you take an in depth look at the founding of this friendly city.

Most of Casper can be navigated on foot, but car rental is an excellent option if you plan to travel to the many historic sites and trails that lie within 60 miles (96.5 km) of the city. Casper also has a limited bus service, but local taxis are inexpensive and can be easily booked from several firms.
Getting from the Airport to the City
Flights to Natrona County International Airport (CPR) can be found from international airports such as Salt Lake City, Las Vegas and Denver, and the airport is just 30 minutes from the centre of Casper. However, if you need a taxi to pick you up it is best to ring in advance and book one from a local Casper company. There are also car rental outlets at the airport for those who want a vehicle for use while in Casper.
